The company that makes Clif Bars is vololuntarily recalling three flavors: Nuts & Seeds energy bars, Sierra Trail Mix and Mojo Mountain Mix trail mix bars.
There have been no reports of illness, but one supplier of ingredients, SunOpta, was found to have distributed sunflower seeds contaminated with Listeria.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young chidren, pregnant women and frail or elderly people.
Clif Bar & Company is asking that people who purchased any of the three types of bars not to consume them.
