AUGUSTA — Maine’s spring turkey hunt is entering its final day of 2016.
The hunt is open all over the state, with more restrictions in some parts of far northern Maine. It ends for the year on Saturday.
Hunters are allowed to take two bearded wild turkeys in most areas of the state. However, seven wildlife management districts in northern Maine are limited to one turkey this spring.
There is a slightly longer turkey hunting season in the fall that begins on Oct. 1. Hunters can harvest birds of either sex during the fall hunt.
