The life celebration of the late John Christie will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sugarloaf ski resort in Carrabassett Valley.
Friends and family can share remembrances of Christie in the King Pine Room at the Sugarloaf Base Lodge.
Christie, a 2006 inductee to the Maine Ski Hall of Fame, died at age 79 on May 7. He was the general manager at Sugarloaf and then Mount Snow in Vermont in the 1960s, and later owned and ran Saddleback ski area in Rangeley.
Christie also was the author of three books, and wrote a skiing column and adventure column for the Outdoors section of the Maine Sunday Telegram.
