BOWIE, Md. — The Portland Sea Dogs scored two unearned runs in the 10th inning Tuesday night and held on for a 5-4 win over the Bowie Baysox in the first of a three-game series at Prince George’s Stadium.

The Sea Dogs have won 3 of 4.

Aneury Tavarez started the winning rally, shooting a single to right.

Rainel Rosario followed with a grounder that shortstop Adrian Marin threw away.

Tavarez rounded second on the error and then continued home as first baseman Joey Terdoslavich fired wildly to third to let in the run.

Wendell Rijo then singled home Rosario.

The Sea Dogs (22-41) broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the sixth on Andrew Benintendi’s two-run homer.

Henry Urrutia gave Bowie the lead with a three-run shot in the bottom of the inning.

However Portland’s Ryan Court tied the game in the top of the eighth, walking and eventually scoring on Cole Sturgeon’s bases-loaded fielder’s choice.
