Residents in School Administrative District 6 approved a school budget Tuesday by a large margin.

Final results provided Wednesday for Standish, Buxton, Hollis, Limington and Frye Island show that 62 percent of voters supported the budget while 38 percent opposed it.

The $48.1 million budget is up 3.3 percent from the current budget and will result in small tax increases if approved.

Incumbents Alan Dube and Paul Mosely ran for re-election to seats representing Standish and Philip Pomerleau, a former town councilor, filled a vacant seat.

Hollis board member Lester Harmon ran unopposed for another term.

No candidates were on the ballot for two-year and three-year terms representing Buxton, but write-in candidates Charlene Libby and Heidi Perkins received 52 and 34 votes, respectively, to earn the seats.
