RICHMOND, Va. — Aneury Tavarez paced a 14-hit attack, going 5 for 5 with two RBI to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 10-3 win Saturday night over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Tavarez doubled and tripled, and Andrew Benintendi hit his third homer in eight days, a two-run shot in the ninth.

Austin Maddox allowed just two hits in four scoreless innings but didn’t pitch long enough to qualify for the win. He was followed by Nik Turley (1-2), Luis Ysla and Jake Drehoff, who escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and finished up to get his first save of the year.
