I hope that Gov. LePage will not stop the food stamp program just because people buy candy and potato chips with their food stamps.

I don’t get food stamps. So it won’t affect me one way or the other. But I am proud to say I am a Republican and I voted for Gov. LePage and would vote for him again.

And I hope that he will consider the reputation of the Republican Party and continue to make it the party that cares about the poor, and not make it the party known as the one that took food out of the mouths of poor people and children.

Gov. LePage may not approve of eating candy and chips. That’s his opinion. Other people have a different opinion.

Americans have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And if, for some people, the pursuit of happiness means eating a bag of chips once in a while, well, so be it. They should have the right to make their own choices about that and not suffer starvation because of that choice.
