In Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, the Supreme Court of the United States struck down the Texas abortion access law.

Commenting on this decision, Attorney General Loretta Lynch stated that the Department of Justice “will continue to defend the constitutional rights of women across America – including the right to reproductive freedom.” In addition, a recent Maine Voices commentary (June 5) argued that Maine should legalize late-term abortions because a 24-week fetus cannot feel pain.

Wonderful! Remember: Abortions kill babies! It doesn’t matter the stage of development. Abortion restrictions may be punitive to women, but abortions are fatal to babies.

How late shall Maine allow abortions? Aborting a pre-born fetus kills the baby. Aborting an unborn fetus kills the baby. Aborting a baby as it is being born kills the baby.

If all this is allowed, why not pass a law that allows a baby to be killed within five days of delivery?
