SOUTH PORTLAND — Griffin Kelley threw a complete game four-hitter, striking our seven as Yankee Ford beat Andrew Post 5-1 Tuesday in a Zone 3 American Legion game at South Portland.

Kelley gave up his run in the top of the first as Jake Knop singled and scored on Robbie Armitage’s RBI triple for Andrews Post (3-8).

LIBBY MITCHELL 3, SUMMIT GAS 1: Sam Warren struck out six and walked one and threw a six-hitter to lead Libby Mitchell (6-6) over Summit Natural Gas (2-11) in a Zone 3 game at Scarborough.

SEBAGO LAKERS 5, COASTAL LANDSCAPE 1: Troy Bogdhan scored on a RBI double by Brady Grass in the second inning to give the Sebago Lakers (7-3) the lead for good as they scored the last five runs and defeated Coastal Landscape (7-5) in a Zone 3 game at Cheverus High School.

JUNIOR LEGION

BIDDEFORD 15, FAYETTE STAPLES 5: Cam Twomey and Brice Springer had three hits apiece and combined to drive in five runs for Biddeford (2-9) in a six-inning win over Fayette Staples (1-7) at Biddeford.

MORRILL POST 17, BRUNO’S 13: Daniel Mickiewicz drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run single in the top of the seventh as Morrill Post (6-2) scored five runs to rally past Bruno’s (6-5) at Deering Oaks.

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, FITNESS FACTORY 4: Peter Cates drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out RBI single that capped a three-run top of the fifth inning for Sacopee Valley (3-5) as it rallied for a win over Fitness Factory (5-5) in Portland.

Brandon Capono struck out three and did not allow a hit in closing out the game with three scoreless innings of relief for Sacopee Valley.

EMPIRE LEAGUE

WATERTOWN 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3: Johnny Cole hit an RBI single to give the Bucks a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning and they held on for a win over the Surge at Watertown, New York.

Watertown opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Surge rallied to tie the game with two runs in the top of the fourth on an error and an RBI single by Jordyn Van Atta.

Old Orchard stranded a pair of runners in the top of the eighth inning and the Bucks added two more runs in the bottom half to extend their lead to 5-2.

The Surge got one run back in the top of the ninth inning on an RBI from Dan Gagnon.

NECBL

VERMONT 9, SANFORD 5: The Mountaineers scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally past Sanford at Montpelier, Vermont.

Vermont (7-13) scored a run in the third inning on a solo home run by Will Morgan and added another run in the fifth inning on an RBI double by Slade Heggen.

Sanford (9-12) answered with five runs in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by Michael Landestoy and run-scoring doubles by Todd Czinege and Johnny Slater.

Landestoy went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI for the Mainers.
