SOUTH PORTLAND — Marshall Peterson threw a three-hitter, Dylan Roberts hit an RBI double and Yankee Ford remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Coastal Landscape in a Zone 3 American Legion game Thursday night.

Roberts knocked home Nate Ingalls in the first inning and Peterson struck out six while walking only one in helping Yankee improve to 11-0.

James Sinclair pitched six innings for Coastal Landscape (7-6), allowing four hits and walk while striking out four.

FAYETTE-STAPLES 3, WELLS 1: Ben Lambert pitched a one-hitter and had three hits of his own to lead Fayette-Staples (10-2) over Wells (9-3) in a Zone 4 game at Saco.

Lambert struck out 10 and walked three. He tripled in the bottom of the third and scored on a double by Evan Balzano. Eric Clum-Russell followed with an RBI single to give Fayette-Staples a 2-1 lead.

Ryan Coughlan singled in the Wells run in the first.

BONANZA OF SANFORD 5, NOBLE 3: Josiah Scott hit a two-run double to break a 3-3 tie in the fifth, and host Bonanza of Sanford (2-9) edged Noble (8-4) in a Zone 4 game.

Brad Bouchard gave up three runs on four hits while striking out seven in five innings to earn the win for Bonanza. Nate Martineau had four strikeouts in two hitless innings of relief.

STAPLES CROSSING 7, SACO BAY PT 6: Max Horton and Aidan Place each drew bases-loaded walks during a seven-run fifth inning as Staples Crossing (7-5) rallied past Saco Bay PT (0-10-1) in a Zone 4 game at South Berwick.

Spencer Thorne, Thomas Carr and Trevor LaBonte had two hits apiece for Saco Bay PT.

SUMMIT NATURAL GAS 8, SEBAGO LAKERS 2: Evan Harmer hit a two-run single during a five-run first inning for Summit Natural Gas (2-12) in a Zone 3 game at Yarmouth.

Luke Klenda struck out five and scattered eight hits in a complete game for Summit, and Jordan Brown and Jack Snyder drove in one run apiece.

JUNIOR LEGION

MORRILL POST 6, THIRSTY TURF 4: Noah McHugh scored the go-ahead run on a balk in the top of the ninth to lift Morrill Post (6-2) to an extra-inning win over Thirsty Turf (6-5) at Cheverus High.

Andrew DeGeorge and John Welch had two hits apiece for Thirsty Turf, which scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and one in the bottom of the seventh to erase a 4-1 deficit.

SUMMIT NATRUAL GAS 10, BIDDEFORD 0: Reece Hall hit a two-run single during a five-run first inning and George McCosh added a two-run triple in the third as Summit Natural Gas (8-2) cruised to a five-inning win at Yarmouth.

Luke Waeldner struck out seven and walked one while throwing a one-hitter for Summit.

Biddeford (2-10) got a leadoff double by Anthony Mariello in fifth.

FITNESS FACTORY 18, CAPE ELIZABETH 4: Jack Lynch had two hits and four RBI to lead Fitness Factory (6-5) past host Cape Elizabeth (5-6) in a five-inning game.

Jacob Gikas added three hits, while Connor Buckley earned the win, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out six.
