Portland got its other run in the seventh on a double by Jake Romanski, an error and a groundout by Raniel Rosario.

Taylor Grover (1-1) took the loss in relief in of Jalen Beeks, who gave up one run in five innings. Beeks struck out five, walked three and allowed three hits.

The series was moved from Hartford to Binghamton because the Yard Goats’ new stadium still isn’t ready. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday before taking four games off for the All-Star break.
