This Press Herald photograph from the spring of 1948 shows Portland Stadium, today known as Fitzpatrick Stadium, set up as a baseball field for the Portland Pilots’ opening day.
An November 2015 photograph shows fans in the stands during the annual Thanksgiving Day high school football game between Deering and Portland. A construction project in April of last year replaced the grass field with artificial turf.
