OSSIPEE, N.H. — Authorities say a 64-year-old man drowned on Duncan Lake in Ossipee Sunday.

Officials told WMUR-TV that another boater saw an overturned kayak and discovered the man’s body about 70 yards off shore around 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Rescuers administered CPR but were unable to revive the man, who was visiting from Birmingham, Alabama. His identity was being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities are urging boaters to wear a life jacket when on the water.
