There has been much thought about sculpture that we might showcase in Woodfords Corner. Perhaps we might think of an educational replica of our statesmen and stateswomen – something our youth may look up to that will shine a light on why we are what we are.

We have a slogan that has been admired in all the United States: “As Maine goes, so goes the nation!”

Those who helped build our foundation were Gov. Percival Baxter – for his forethought to save the green space in our city, as well as the gift of the wilderness territory.

The Hon. Edmund Muskie, for his forethought on clean water and a clean environment. How can we forget U.S. Sen. Margaret Chase Smith, who stood for right in running the government?

We have Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Square. We showcase these outstanding citizens as a history lesson for the passing parade.
