NEW YORK — Jennifer Aniston’s takedown of tabloid culture is winning support among celebrities, including as Melissa McCarthy, Jason Bateman and Margaret Cho, but criticism from at least one tabloid journalist.

In her essay for the Huffington Post, Aniston writes that constant paparazzi coverage contributes to a “dehumanizing view of females, focused solely on one’s physical appearance.”

Piers Morgan responded with a column in Britain’s Daily Mail in which he calls Aniston’s stance hypocritical and writes that she helped create the attention by posing for dozens of magazine covers over the years that have been airbrushed to improve her looks.
