The Apple Valley 13-15 Babe Ruth team lost its second game of the New England regional, falling 12-1 to Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 4 1/2 innings Saturday.

After falling in extra innings in the regional opener, Apple Valley ran into a red-hot Pittsfield team, which moved to 2-0 in the tournament.

“The team from Pittsfield is really, really good,” coach Dan Dion said. “We went through three pitchers in the first inning.”

Apple Valley is 0-2 at the tournament, but still has a scenario that would allow them to advance with a win tomorrow over host Lynn, Massachusetts and some help.

Reid Cote, who was Apple Valley’s top hitter in the opening game, will get the ball on the mound Sunday.
