A 36-year-old Lebanon man was seriously injured Saturday when a vehicle he was loading onto a tow truck hit him.

Maine State Police Trooper Adam Schmidt said the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, was loading a vehicle at a residence at 137 Depot Road in Lebanon about noon when a cable snapped, causing the vehicle to fall and hit him.

The vehicle was being prepared to be towed to Tracy Robertson’s Auto Sales in Lebanon.

The injured man was taken by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment.
