BRISTOL, Conn. — Josh Gagne struck out six and walked two in a six-hitter Wednesday as Rochester, New Hampshire, rallied to a 4-3 victory over Yankee Ford in an American Legion baseball Northeast Regional opener.

Yankee Ford, with players from South Portland and Cape Elizabeth, will take on Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in the losers’ bracket of the eight-team double-elimination tournament at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Trailing 2-0, Yankee Ford scored its three runs in the sixth inning. Ben Conti hit a two-run triple, then scored on an error.

Rochester then won it with a two-run seventh. It tied the game when Ben Gravel scored on a groundout, then went ahead when Yankee Ford third baseman Alex Livingston made a diving stop with the bases loaded and attempted to tag the runner advancing to third, but the runner was ruled safe as Shaun Cormier scored.
