The South Portland High School cross country program is hosting the Paul Brogan Invitational on Thursday, and the former Red Riots coach will be in attendance. Participating high school teams include South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Portland and Biddeford, and South Portland alumni are invited to run or spectate. The race schedule is: 5:30 p.m., JV boys and girls (1.75 miles); 6 p.m., varsity boys and alumni (2.7 miles); 6:30 p.m., varsity girls and alumni (2.7 miles)
The U.S. Kids Golf Portland fall tour for players ages 5-to-14 begins Aug. 27 at Martindale Country Club in Auburn. Seven additional tournaments will be held courses in Greater Portland and the Lewiston area, concluding Oct. 16 at The Links at Poland Spring.
