Before I lost my voice to cancer, I traveled all over the U.S. and to the U.K. performing Maine humor, storytelling and folk singing.
Everywhere I went, people were interested in this great state of Maine. There were so many questions about this part of the world, I felt like a freelance ambassador. I saw considerable envy in their questions, and they admired us for living here.
Now, many of those people with whom I keep in touch have a different question: “What the hell ails you people?” They can’t believe that we are putting up with Gov. LePage. His reputation is destroying the reputation of this unique land.
Now, the Republicans in the Legislature have, as usual, decided to do nothing. A word to them: Cancer does not cure itself.
