It seems to me that Gov. LePage made two mistakes: His first mistake was to notice. His second was to say something.

To the pharisees of political correctness, these are mortal sins. His overreaction to their shrill condemnation is a product of his strong sense of honor and personal integrity.

In today’s environment of preening moral vanity and gesture-politics narcissism, LePage’s plain speaking is a mortal threat to the high religion of political correctness, so its high priests are calling for the crucifixion of a good man.

Paul LePage is looking out for the interests of working Mainers, fighting the good fight and telling the truth. We’re lucky to have him.
