On Thursday, you ran a front-page news story by Eric Russell, who reported that “House Republican leaders said they are comfortable that the governor has made amends” and “House Republicans said they were ready to move on and would not consider calling a special session to consider a censure or other action against the governor.”

Then, in an accompanying article about the possible effect on upcoming legislative races, another Press Herald reporter, Scott Thistle, quotes “one member of the Republican Party’s state committee, who asked not to be identified because of concern that (Gov.) LePage would retaliate against him … .”

Can it be any clearer? Shame on the governor’s enablers and apologists.
