In nature, there are no rewards nor punishments, only consequences. This is what Maine’s legislators fail to understand: There must be consequences for Gov. LePage.
Our system of government is one of checks and balances. It is the reason the U.S. system has outlasted other government systems.
We are neither a state nor a country of kings and dictators who do as they please. We have laws, processes and procedures that need to be followed for our government to function justly and effectively. An elected official cannot go off the rails with no consequences.
So, legislators, do your job, follow the process and see where it leads instead of ignoring or dropping issue after issue involving this governor.
