POLAND — Peyton Weatherbie scored on runs of 29 and 36 yards as Cape Elizabeth rolled to a 42-0 win over Poland in a Class C South football game Friday night.

Ben Ekedahl added a 15-yard touchdown run and Brett McAlister scored from 3 yards out as Cape Elizabeth (2-0) jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter with the aid of two successful onside kicks.

Ekedahl also scored on a 31-yard interception return, and Marshall Peterson was 5 for 5 on extra points.

Alex Depke scored on a 4-yard run for the final touchdown.

Poland fell to 0-2.

BIDDEFORD 48, NOBLE 0: Brady Crepeau scored a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and quarterback Joey Curit added two touchdowns in the second quarter as the Tigers (2-0) cruised past the Knights (0-2) at North Berwick.

Colin Lavigne, Mathieu Gagne and Carter Edgerton also scored touchdowns for the Tigers, who led 34-0 at halftime.

KENNEBUNK 49, GORHAM 13: Jacob Littlefield rushed for 168 yards and two first-half touchdowns runs as Kennebunk (2-0) opened a 35-7 halftime lead and rolled past visiting Gorham (0-2).

Sophomore quarterback Joseph Bush Jr. was 3 for 3 passing for 65 yards, with all his completions going for touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown.

WELLS 53, FREEPORT 0: Riley Dempsey took the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and also scored on a 19-yard run as the Warriors (2-0) downed the Falcons (1-1) at Wells.

Dempsey also had a 90-yard interception return to the 1 to set up another touchdown for the Warriors, who led 41-0 at halftime.

Evan Whitten scored two touchdowns.

SOUTH PORTLAND 42, MASSABESIC 7: Matt Crockett ran for three touchdowns and threw for one to lead the Red Riots (1-1) over the Mustangs (0-2) in Waterboro.

South Portland raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead, helped by Finn Zechman’s 18-yard touchdown reception.

Crockett rushed for 142 yards.

Artimus Stilley scored on a 12-yard run late in the third quarter to push South Portland’s lead to 42-0.

Isaac DesVergnes put Massabesic on the board in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard run.

MCI 41, BUCKSPORT 21: Eli Bussell ran for 278 yards and a touchdown to help the Huskies (2-0) beat the Golden Bucks (1-1) in Pittsfield.

Josh Buker added 95 yards rushing and two touchdowns for MCI, and also threw two touchdown passes to David Young. Adam Bertrand ran for 102 yards and a touchdown.

MESSALONSKEE 46, CONY 14: The Eagles (2-0) ran for 462 yards and came away with a victory against the Rams (1-1) at Augusta.

Colby Dexter ran for 192 yards and four touchdowns for Messalonskee. Fullback Austin Pelletier added 192 yards and a touchdown, and Tyler Lewis had 90 yards and a touchdown.

It was a close game until two big plays early in the third quarter. Down 20-14, Cony had first-and-goal at the Messalonskee 10. Then Dexter picked off a Taylor Heath pass at the 2.

Three plays later, Dexter went 95 yards for a touchdown, breaking down the right sideline and following a key block from guard Chase Borssen. The score gave Messalonskee a 26-14 lead.
