A Safelite AutoGlass supercenter is expected to open in Portland by Oct. 1.
The company is hiring about 30 people to staff the new warehouse and store at 421 Warren Ave., according to a Safelite news release.
Customers in New Hampshire and southern Maine who had previously been served from the company’s Boston warehouse will now be able to use the Portland facility, as will its mobile technicians. Safelite also has locations in Augusta and Bangor.
Larry Gallagher was hired to serve as the district manager.
The 27,000-square-foot facility will stock frequently needed parts and hold six service bays in order to offer more customers same- or next-day in-shop service. Mobile appointments will continue to be available, according to the release.
