YORK — Andrew Rodrigues scored the tiebreaking touchdown on a 6-yard run with 47.7 left as York earned a 21-14 win over Leavitt in a Class B South football game Friday night.

York (2-1) trailed 14-0 at halftime but opened the second half with a 12-play, 67-yard drive, capped by Trevor LaBonte’s 2-yard run. The Wildcats then pulled even late in the third quarter on a 5-yard run by Rodrigues.

Leavitt is 1-2.

CAPE ELIZABETH 55, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 12: Ryan Weare ran for 79 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Capers (3-0) past the Phoenix (1-2) in Cape Elizabeth.

Cape Elizabeth opened a 14-0 lead five minutes into the game with help from a 32-yard pass play on fourth down from punt formation, with Marshall Peterson finding Brett McAlister. That set up a 1-yard run by Weare.

After a fumble recovery, the Capers scored again when Max Woods recovered Peyton Weatherbie’s fumble in the end zone. A 5-yard run by Weare put Cape Elizabeth up 21-0 after one quarter.

McAlister finished with 81 yards rushing and caught four passes for 68 yards. He scored on a 1-yard run and a 5-yard reception from Jeb Boeschenstein (5 of 9, 60 yards).

Weatherbie scored on a 13-yard run and gained 55 yards on nine carries. M.J. Convey had TD runs of 1 and 4 yards.

Peterson was 7 for 7 on PAT kicks.

Spruce Mountain scored on a 36-yard interception return by Devon Pomeroy to make it 28-6 and, in the final minute of the half, on an 8-yard reception by Brett Frey from Caulin Parker.

Parker completed 7 of 13 passes for 64 yards. He also ran for 45 yards on four carries.

SANFORD 33, SOUTH PORTLAND 7: Frank Veino rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another in the first half to lead the Spartans (2-1) past the Red Riots (1-2) in South Portland.

Veino’s first two touchdown runs gave Sanford a 12-0 lead after one quarter. He scored again just 31 seconds into the second quarter, then throw a TD pass to Ethan Belanger to make it 26-0.

Sam Anderson scored Sanford’s final touchdown in the second half.

South Portland avoided a shutout when Artimus Stilley scored on a 43-yard run with about three minutes remaining.

YARMOUTH 45, POLAND 18: Remi LeBlanc plunged in for three short scoring runs and a conversion as the Clippers (3-0) beat the Knights (0-2) in Yarmouth.

Noah Eckersley-Ray and Ben Gleason also had rushing touchdowns for Yarmouth, which gained 281 yards on the ground. John Thoma added a 27-yard scoring pass to Jack True, and Michael Hagerty kicked five PATs and a 36-yard field goal.

BONNY EAGLE 70, BANGOR 7: Cam Day had 6 carries for 49 yards and three rushing touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Kordell Menards in a 56-point first half as the Scots (3-0) rolled over the Rams (0-3) in Standish.

Alex Sprague ran for 128 yards on 13 carries, and the Bonny Eagle defense dominated, recording three interceptions, including a 21-yard touchdown return by Jake Cook.

Zach Maturo completed the scoring for the Scots with a 90-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter.

CHEVERUS 28, LEWISTON 20: Jack Casale threw two touchdown passes to Dominic Casale and rushed for a touchdown to lead the Stags (2-1) past the Blue Devils (1-2).

Rylan Benedict rushed for 126 yards for Cheverus.

KENNEBUNK 26, MORSE 14: Jacob Littlefield scored three touchdowns to lead the Rams (3-0) over the Shipbuilders (1-2) in Kennebunk.

Littlefield finished with 162 yards on 18 carries. He scored on runs of 4, 15 and 35 yards. Patrick Saunders added a 1-yard touchdown run.

BRUNSWICK 58, CONY 14: Hunter Garrett rushed for two touchdowns, and Jesse Devereaux had a TD run and a touchdown pass on a halfback option as the Dragons (3-0) overpowered the Rams (1-2) in Brunswick.

Brunswick struck quickly, as Devereaux connected with Jackson Gordon for a 57-yard scoring pass. Garrett’s first touchdown, from 12 yards, made it 12-0, and Christian Jensen threw a 70-yard pass to Corban Teel to extend the lead to 20-0 after one quarter.

Devereaux (2 yards), Garrett (10 yards) and Ben Palizay (6 yards) added touchdown runs in the second quarter as the lead grew to 42-7.

OCEANSIDE 40, JOHN BAPST 12: Nate Raye had 197 total yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Brandon Debrosky rushed for two touchdowns as the Mariners (2-1) cruised to a win over the Crusaders (0-3) in Rockland.

Raye rushed for 138 yards and caught a 55-yard touchdown pass, while Debrosky had 12 carriers for 110 yards and threw for 96 yards.

Zach Lakeman had two interceptions for John Bapst and returned one 55 yards for a touchdown that made it 12-12 just before halftime.
