STANDISH — Kristen O’Connell scored two goals, including the winner six minutes into the second half, to lead Sanford to a 2-1 victory against Bonny Eagle in an SMAA schoolgirl soccer game Friday night.

Maddy Johnson gave Bonny Eagle (4-3) a 1-0 lead with an assist from Madison Boothby 10 minutes into the game. O’Connell responded with her first goal of the game 20 minutes later to tie it going into halftime.

O’Connell put in her winner from a scramble early in the second half for the Spartans (5-1-1).

Maddie Cole made seven saves for Bonny Eagle. Nikita Perez stopped eight shots for Sanford.

CHEVERUS 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Lauren Jordan scored from Emma Gallant 11:14 into the first half and the Stags (5-1-1) held off the Trojans (3-4) at Portland.

Katie Gordon, assisted by Gallant, extended the lead in the 85th minute.

Dana Sirois made nine saves for Thornton.

WINDHAM 5, NOBLE 0: Allison Kirby had two goals and an assist as the Eagles (4-0-3) cruised past the Knights (1-4-2) at Windham.

Kirby gave Windham a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute, assisted by Holly Spencer. Caitlin Drouin made it 2-0 three minutes later with an assist from Kirby. Kirby then scored from Spencer to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Jordan Lloyd and Meghan Hoffses added goals, both from Emily Kent. Raegan Kelly made 16 saves for Noble.

SCARBOROUGH 10, BIDDEFORD 0: Gaby Panagakos had three goals and six other players also scored for the Red Storm (4-1-2) against the Tigers (0-7) at Biddeford,

Susan Woodridge had a pair of goals, Ashley Perillo and Natalie Russell each had a goal and two assists, and Leah Dickman, Katie Farino and Jocelyn Couture also scored for Scarborough.

Jillian Lewis stopped 26 shots for Biddeford. Erin Ryan had four saves for the Red Storm.

MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 1, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Callie O’Brien of the Red Riots (2-4-1) scored at 22:37 of the first half, but Catherine Reid tied it from Zoe Mazur after 17:12 of the second half for the Lions (1-5-1) at Portland.

Carly Beaulieu had 13 saves for MGA. Zoe Brown and Maria Buck combined for 11 saves for South Portland.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Nette Humphrey scored on a nifty feed from McKenzie Murphy 5:36 into the game, and the Hawks (5-0-1) downed the Rangers (3-4) at South Hiram.

Murphy set up Natashia Silva to make it 2-0 with 17:55 to play.

Summer Huntress made 20 saves for Traip Academy. Madison Day stopped 10 shots for the Hawks.

BRUNSWICK 3, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 1: Maeve Arthur scored twice as Brunswick (5-2) beat the Broncos (3-3-1) at Hampden.

Kira Wolpow added a goal and two assists, and Dina Murphy also had an assist for the Dragons.

BOYS’ SOCCER

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 3, CHOP POINT 2: Killian Patterson dribbled deep down the left side, stopping just short of the net and bending a shot inside the far post to give Greater Portland Christian (1-4-1) the victory with 15:25 left in overtime against the Blue Bears (2-3-1) at Woolwich.

Patterson also made it 2-2 with the only goal of the second half.

Chop Point led 2-1 at the half, sandwiching goals by Connor Leonard and Oriol Abad around Ethan Spaulding’s score for the Lions.

Christian Patterson had two assists and Mason Jones stopped eight shots for Greater Portland Christian. Nehemiah Brown had nine saves for the Blue Bears.

FIELD HOCKEY

LAKE REGION 0, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Maddie Nelson of Lake Region (0-7-1) and Alicia Credit of Gray-New Gloucester (0-8-1) each made nine saves at Gray.

SCARBOROUGH 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Lily Nygren scored unassisted with 2:30 to play in the first half and the Red Storm (6-2) went on to shut out the Golden Trojans (5-2-1) at Scarborough.

Ashley Levesque made it 2-0 from Lucy Malia with 35 seconds to go in the game.

Izzy Capozzi stopped 10 of the 12 shots she faced for Thornton. Sam Carriero turned aside all five shots she saw for the shutout.

MARSHWOOD 4, CHEVERUS 0: Leah Glidden had two goals and an assist as the Hawks (8-1) rolled past the Stags (6-3) at South Berwick.

Taylor Gilbert had a goal and an assist, Celine Lawrence also scored, and Elaine Bachelder and Mallory Nadeau had assists.

Shannon Giblin stopped five shots for Marshwood.

MASSABESIC 5, BONNY EAGLE 0: Emma Rutledge had two goals and an assist to lead the Mustangs (8-0-1) over Bonny Eagle (1-7) at Waterboro.

Logan Champlin added a goal and two assists, and Kaylee St. Laurent and Jackie Bearse also scored.

GORHAM 5, DEERING 0: Grace McGouldrick scored 10 minutes into the game, Erin Esty added a goal three minutes later and Gorham (5-2-2) went on to beat visiting Deering (1-8).

Isis Adams, Karen Stemm and Mercy Dunn also scored, and Grace DeWitt, Amary Adams, McGouldrick and Sarah Stevens had assists.

BIDDEFORD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Rebekah Guay, finding an empty spot as the defense left her unmarked, drove on net and beat the goalie with a ground shot to give Biddeford (3-5) a 2-1 lead over the Red Riots (3-5) at South Portland.

Abby Darling’s goal from Molly Walker had South Portland ahead 1-0 at the half. Hailey Allen tied it before Guay notched the go-ahead goal.

Paige Laverriere’s late goal completed the scoring.

Taylor Wildes of Biddeford made five saves. Maddie Drolet had 16 saves for the Riots.
