BABSON PARK, Mass. — Matt Dias Costa tied the game in the 73rd minute with an unassisted goal as Bowdoin had to settle for a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Babson at Hartwell Rogers Field in Babson Park, Massachusetts.

After a scoreless first half, Adam Villari gave Babson (4-4-2) a 1-0 lead in the 69th minute with an unassisted goal.

The best chance for Bowdoin (4-2-2) to break the 1-1 tie came in the 95th minute in the first overtime as a shot attempt by Jack Schultz was blocked by Babson keeper James Takami.

Stevie Van Siclen made five saves for Bowdoin.

ST. JOSEPH’S 1, MOUNT IDA 0: Ryan Buonaiuto set up Austin Bell for the go-ahead score in the 40th minute and the Monks (7-1-2, 3-0 GNAC) held on to beat the Mustangs (4-3-3, 1-0-2) at Alumni Field in Newton, Massachusetts.

Blake Mullen made four saves to preserve the shutout.

SOUTHERN MAINE 1, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 0: Christopher Pepin and Kyle Curley set up Justin Pierce who converted the pass for the only score of the contest with 6:44 to play as the Huskies (2-5-3) edged the host Beavers (2-7) in a nonconference match at Farmington.

USM’s Simon Hulbert and UMF’s Ronie Morales each made a pair of saves.

CLARK 2, UNE 0: Demetri Boumis scored on a feed from Trevor Sheridan at the 60:11 mark to break a scoreless tie as the Cougars (8-0) shut out the Nor’easters (1-4-4) in a nonconference game at Worcester, Massachusetts.

FIELD HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 3, WELLESLEY 0: The Polar Bears (7-1) scored a pair of goals in the second half to pull away over the Blue (5-3) in a nonconference match at Brunswick.

Kimmy Ganong scored on a feed from Juliana Fiore in the 17th minute to give Bowdoin a 1-0 lead heading to halftime.

Mettler Growney widened the Polar Bear lead with an unassisted goal 2:29 into the second half.

Kara Finnerty rounded out the scoring with assists from Tala Glass and Elizabeth Bennewitz in the 66th minute.

HUSSON 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Lauren Russell scored an unassisted goal for the game-winner on a scramble in front of the cage 3:05 into overtime as the Eagles (3-3) outlasted the Monks (3-5) in a nonconference game at Standish.

Kaitlin Dollff stopped all eight shots she faced for the Eagles to record the shutout, while Megan Baker recorded six saves for the Monks.

UNE 4, GORDON 0: Nicole Matarozzo scored two goals to lead the Nor’easters (8-1, 4-0 CCC) past the Bison (3-6, 0-4) at Wenham, Massachusetts.

Matarozzo gave UNE a 1-0 lead 14:28 into the first half, firing a shot to the left side of the net. Becky Zakorchemny scored less than 10 minutes later off a setup from Hannah Buckley to give UNE a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

Matarozzo added her second goal early in the second half off a pass from Abbey Rouillard. Brooke Marshall completed the scoring with a goal off a feed from Marge Gardiner on a penalty corner.

KEENE STATE 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Kendal Brown scored 11 minutes into the game and the Owls (8-3, 5-0 LEC) went on to beat the Huskies (4-6, 3-3) at the Owl Athletic Complex in Keene, New Hampshire.

The Owls led 1-0 at halftime and extended their lead on an unassisted goal from Julia Babbitt in the 35th minute. Brown put in her second goal off an assist by Marita Brothers for a 3-0 lead.

Sami Smith added the last goal for Keene State, getting an assist from Jensyn Dandeneau.

Amanda Kasbohm made nine saves for the Huskies.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, MOUNT IDA 0: Lauren Stiles set up Colleen Sheehan for a score late in the first half, and the Monks (6-4-1, 3-0-1 GNAC) went on to beat the Mustangs (3-6-0, 1-3-0) at Westerlea Way Field in Standish.

The Monks led 1-0 at halftime and extended the lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute on an unassisted goal from Stiles.

Sheehan put in her second goal of the game five minutes later off a pass from Hannah Butler. Haley DaGraca completed the scoring for the Monks, scoring off a pass from Sarah Comtois.
