The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a vehicle that contained a jail uniform and corrections officer badge.
A corrections officer from the Cumberland County Jail called deputies Wednesday morning to report his truck had been stolen from his driveway in Casco sometime after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The truck was unlocked with keys inside, along with a jail uniform and badge, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies also responded to several other calls in the area for reported car burglaries. One of the items reported stolen was a loaded Glock .40-caliber handgun.
Deputies believe the same people are involved with stealing the truck and breaking into cars.
The stolen truck is a blue 2004 Ford F-150 with the Maine license plate 981 ASY.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 893-2810.
