A pickup truck stolen from Casco belonging to a Cumberland County Jail corrections officer was recovered in Falmouth, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
The vehicle, which was left unlocked with the keys inside, was reported stolen Oct. 6. The corrections officer’s uniform and badge were inside the vehicle when it was stolen. They were not recovered.
Falmouth Police located the Ford F-150 abandoned along Forest View Road on Thursday about 1:10 p.m.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office processed the vehicle for evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
The theft was among one of several car burglaries in the Casco area that night.
Another item stolen the same night was a Glock .40 handgun.
