A Sidney woman was injured Monday when the car she was driving rolled over five times and crashed on West River Road, police said.

Jordan Agger, 20, was driving north on the road in Sidney shortly before 11 a.m. when she lost control of the car, Stephen McCausland, Maine Public Safety spokesman, said in a news release.

The car skidded off the road and rolled over five times, coming to rest on its wheels about 35 feet down a steep embankment, McCausland said.

Agger was wearing her seatbelt and the vehicle’s airbags deployed. She suffered unknown injuries during the crash, McCausland said.

Rescuers from Sidney and Delta Ambulance responded to the scene and helped to extricate the woman from the car, McCausland said. A LifeFlight helicopter landed in the field behind a nearby church and flew Agger to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment.

Speed was a factor in the crash, according to Cpl. Diane Vance of the Maine State Police, an investigator at the scene, but the cause of the crash are still under investigation.
