BOSTON — Isaiah Thomas scored 19 points in 15 minutes of playing time and the Boston Celtics cruised to a 120-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets in an NBA exhibition game on Monday.

Jaylen Brown added 12 points off the bench, and Jae Crowder had 11 points and five rebounds for the Celtics, who are 5-1 in the preseason. Terry Rozier and James Young each added 10 points.

Sean Kilpatrick had 15 points for Brooklyn.

PACERS: Indiana waived forward Alex Poythress and guard Nick Zeisloft. Both were undrafted rookies who had not seen much action during the preseason.

MAVERICKS: Dallas signed free-agent center Jaleel Cousins, the younger brother of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins of Sacramento.

The 6-foot-11 Cousins went undrafted this year after averaging 8.5 points and 7.9 rebounds as a senior at South Florida. He played for the Mavericks’ summer league team in Orlando.

KNICKS: Chasson Randle, trying to make the New York Knicks’ roster as a backup guard, is expected to miss at least three weeks with a broken orbital bone around his left eye.

Randle was hurt Friday during practice and a CT scan Saturday revealed the extent of the injury. The Knicks say he saw a specialist on Monday who determined that surgery would not be necessary and that Randle could resume full activities in 3 to 4 weeks.

PELICANS: New Orleans signed swing player Quincy Ford to its preseason roster.

The 6-foot-8 Ford, an undrafted rookie out of Northeastern, is expected to see playing time at shooting guard and small forward.

TRADE: Chicago traded Tony Snell to Milwaukee in exchange for Michael Carter-Williams as the two Central Division foes swapped two guards going into their fourth NBA seasons.
