Your uncle stopped hunting years ago for health reasons. He owns a 12-gauge shotgun that he’s been lending every November to his neighbor, who always shares the game with your uncle.

Fast forward to November 2017. By continuing that tradition, your uncle and his neighbor will become criminals and face fines and jail time of up to one year if caught. How neighborly!

Please read M.R.S.A. Section 1.25, subsection 2014. It’s not long. The proposed law isn’t really about keeping guns from being sold to criminals at gun shows. It’s about additional gun control.

Why? Funding is from Everytown for Gun Safety ($3,680,618) and the Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC ($442,782). Maine Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense spent $570,000 during 2015 to gather 85,000 signatures. That is $6.71 per signature. Opposition funding is primarily by the National Rifle Association ($414,507).

Keep your uncle out of jail. Vote “no” on Question 3.
