HERMON — Giving a face and voice to the stigma often associated with anxiety and depression has landed Hermon native Faith-Ann Bishop on the cover of Time magazine.

Faith-Ann Bishop is shown on the cover of Time magazine.

Faith-Ann Bishop is shown on the cover of the November issue of Time magazine.

Bishop, 20, has been battling the illness for years. As a teenager, she was diagnosed with clinical depression.

The magazine’s cover story is titled “Teen Depression and Anxiety: Why the Kids Are Not Alright.”

Seeing herself on the cover of one of the world’s best-known magazines has been a “like a mix of shock and excitement and it’s a situation that you’re really not taught how to feel about,” Bishop told WLBZ recently.

She currently attends film school in Los Angeles and continues to make short documentaries to help others struggling with depression.
