We are writing in enthusiastic support of Democrat Andrea Boland for the District 33 Maine Senate seat. She has already had a memorable eight years in the Maine House of Representatives, only relinquishing her seat because of term limits.

Given the recent refusal of the Legislature to take action against Gov. LePage when he besmirched the reputation of our state with his coarse speech and racist comments, it is imperative that Andrea be elected in order to help return the Senate to a Democratic majority. This majority would also ensure the rejection of the governor’s vetoes of bipartisan legislation.

A vote for Andrea Boland on Nov. 8 will return to Augusta a woman with respected stature in legislative matters and one who has the courage to speak and act on the pressing issues that confront us in Senate District 33 and the whole state.
