A Cornish man was charged with firing a gun too close to a house on Main Street in Cornish on Friday night.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said Matthew Robinson, 35, was arrested and charged with reckless conduct with a firearm and discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a dwelling.

The sheriff’s office received a report of gunshots in the area of 2 Main St. at about 7:30 p.m. After interviewing witnesses, police arrested Robinson and recovered a .357-caliber handgun.

Robinson was being held at the York County Jail in Alfred on $2,000 bail. An arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
