Three University of Maine football players earned first-team all-conference honors from the Colonial Athletic Association on Tuesday, with six other players receiving third-team honors.

Sophomore wide receiver Micah Wright, senior defensive lineman Pat Ricard and senior linebacker Christophe Mulumba Tshimanga received first-team honors, with Wright also earning a second-team honor as a punt returner.

Wright, who missed the first two games of the season because of a suspension, led Maine with 44 catches, 688 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, which was second-best in the CAA. He was fifth in the CAA in receptions per game (4.89), third in receiving yards per game (76.4) and eighth in all-purpose yards (100.9). He led the CAA with an 11.1 yards per punt return, and scored on a 67-yard punt return against William & Mary.

Ricard played in all 11 games and had 50 tackles, including 15.5 for a loss, which was second in the CAA. He also ranked fifth in sacks with 5.5. For his career, he had 47.5 tackles for a loss.

Mulumba Tshimanga, who missed one game with a concussion, led Maine with 97 tackles, and was second in the CAA with 9.7 tackles per game. He had 7.0 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and two pass break-ups.

The six Black Bears who received third-team honors were: senior quarterback Dan Collins, senior offensive center Max Andrews, senior offensive left tackle Jamil Demby, freshman kick returner Earnest Edwards, sophomore linebacker Sterling Sheffield and junior cornerback Najee Goode.
