A mother and son were seriously injured in a fire that swept through their mobile home in Skowhegan Friday night.

The State Fire Marshal’s office said Andrea Curtis, 24, and her son, Tyler Curtis-Benson, 4, are being treated at hospitals for extensive burns and smoke inhalation.

Curtis is being treated at Maine Medical Center and her son at a Shriners Hospital in Massachusetts.

Skowhegan police officer Timothy Williams entered the burning home and pulled the two from the living room to safety. Williams was treated for smoke inhalation and released.

Fire investigators are working to find the cause of the fire, which broke out at 8:30 p.m.
