Light snow during the Monday morning commute in Greater Portland could make for some treacherous driving conditions, the National Weather Service is warning.
Eric Sinsabaugh, a meteorologist with the Gray bureau, said the snow will move into Portland from the west around 8 a.m. and continue falling for about two hours. Subfreezing temperatures that will have prevailed overnight could make roads slippery for drivers.
“We are trying to make people aware that it could be a little slick during the morning commute,” Sinsabaugh said Sunday night.
Overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the low 20s with highs on Monday reaching 34 degrees. By the time it’s over, Portland should not see more than 2 inches of snow.
