EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. —Andrew Luck was nearly perfect in his return from a concussion Monday night, throwing for four touchdowns, three to Dwayne Allen, in the Indianapolis Colts’ 41-10 romp past the inept New York Jets.

Luck missed last week’s loss to Pittsburgh, cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol on the weekend and came back in style with a prime-time performance. He lifted Indianapolis (6-6) into a tie for the lead in the AFC South with Tennessee and Houston.

Allen and T.Y. Hilton were his main targets as he went 22 of 28 for 278 yards. They received little opposition from the Jets (3-9).

The Colts toyed with the lifeless Jets from the beginning, when Jeremy Ross of New York got to only his 11 with the opening kickoff return. A three-and-out gave Luck the ball, and seven plays later he hit a wide-open Allen for a 7-0 edge.

Indianapolis needed only four plays on its next series, with Allen even more open for a 21-yard reception to make it 14-0. At that juncture, the Colts had gained 120 yards, the Jets 6. The rout was on.

BILLS: Receiver Percy Harvin’s comeback lasted just two games after Buffalo placed him on the season-ending reserve-non-football-illness list because of migraines.

The team announced the roster move a day after Harvin missed his second consecutive game since he began experiencing headaches. The move came a month since the Bills lured him out of retirement.

Harvin appeared in two games and finished with two catches for 6 yards, plus an 11-yard run.

WASHINGTON: Safety Will Blackmon and center Spencer Long are going through the NFL’s concussion protocol after being injured Sunday in a 31-23 loss at Arizona.

Blackmon’s departure from the loss meant more duty for Duke Ihenacho in the secondary. Long’s injury opened the door for veteran center John Sullivan.

Coach Jay Gruden said if Long is unable to play Sunday at Philadelphia, the team would have to look to bring in a backup center. Gruden said the team would look into the status of starter Kory Lichtensteiger, who’s on injured reserve with a calf injury, and Ronald Patrick, who’s on the practice squad.

TITANS: Rookie linebacker Kevin Dodd was placed on injured reserve and will have his right foot re-evaluated after being scratched the past two games.

Dodd, the 33rd pick overall out of Clemson, had not been on the injury report. Coach Mike Mularkey said last week he wanted to see a sense of urgency out of a healthy Dodd.

PANTHERS: Coach Ron Rivera isn’t worried about losing the faith of his players in the locker room after his decision to bench Cam Newton for the start of Sunday night’s game at Seattle.

Rivera said in hindsight he’s “very comfortable” with his decision to keep Newton, the reigning league MVP, on the sideline for failing to wear a tie on the team flight Saturday, as required by team rules.

DOLPHINS: Linebacker Kiko Alonso underwent surgery to repair a broken right thumb, but Coach Adam Gase said he may be available to play Sunday against Arizona.

Alonso was hurt in Sunday’s 38-6 loss at Baltimore. He left the game but returned playing with a cast.

VIKINGS: Coach Mike Zimmer is back at work after eye surgery and expects to travel with the team for Sunday’s game at Jacksonville.

The Vikings, who lost 17-15 to Dallas on Thursday, will reconvene for practice Tuesday.

SEAHAWKS: The team will be without safety Earl Thomas for the rest of the season due to his broken lower left leg, no matter how far it advances in the playoffs.

Thomas’ fractured left tibia will require a recovery time that doesn’t allow for the possibility of a return this season. It usually takes a minimum of six weeks of recovery time.
