SOUTH BERWICK — Noelle Barrett scored 11 points, Jordyn Beers had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Marshwood survived a close finish for a 45-43 victory over York in a Class A South girls’ basketball game Thursday night.

With the Hawks (3-0) leading by two, Beers missed two free throws with eight seconds remaining that would have put the game out of reach. After a the Wildcats took a timeout, Madigan Cogger missed a potential winning 3-pointer as time expired.

Reilly Smedley led York (0-3) with 12 points. Nina Howe added 11.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 48, LAKE REGION 46: Cagney O’Brien scored 22 points and knocked down a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining to lead the Eagles (2-1) to a win over the Lakers (1-2) in Newcastle.

O’Brien added four rebounds and two steals, while Gabrielle Wajer added nine points, four assists and two steals. Lincoln Academy led 36-35 heading into the fourth quarter.

Chandler True scored 22 points, knocking down four 3-pointers, to lead Lake Region.

BONNY EAGLE 58, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 45: Mackenzie Emery scored 17 points for the Scots (2-1), who used a 17-10 third-quarter run to pull away from the Lions (1-2) at Portland.

Deirdre Sanborn had 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for Bonny Eagle, while Tracie Townsend added nine points.

Catherine Reid and Jill Joyce each scored 13 points for Maine Girls’ Academy. Hope Olson tossed in 10 points.

SCARBOROUGH 55, SANFORD 44: The Red Storm (1-0) used a 16-3 second-quarter run to take the lead for good in a win over the Spartans (1-2) at Sanford.

Jocelyn Couture had 18 points, include three buckets from behind the arc, while Sophie Glidden added 15 points for Scarborough.

Paige Cote led Sanford with 19 points. Summer Camire added 10.

THORNTON ACADEMY 57, MASSABESIC 45: Alisha Aube scored 28 points as the Trojans (2-1) beat the Mustangs (0-2) in Waterboro.

Aube hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Trojans opened a 29-13 halftime lead.

Bella Robinson added 10 points for Thornton.

Kenzy Ouellette scored 14 points and Skylar Renaud had 11 for Massabesic.

YARMOUTH 54, WAYNFLETE 23: Cory Langenbach scored 20 points and Alison Clark had 16 as the Clippers (2-1) beat the Flyers (1-2) at Portland.

Sara D’Appolonia added 11 points for Yarmouth, which led 28-13 at halftime.

Annika Brooks scored 11 points to lead Waynflete.

TRAIP ACADEMY 33, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 29: Cassidy Delano scored 15 points to help the Rangers (2-1) edge the Panthers (1-1) in Yarmouth.

Katherine Larson scored 11 points to lead the Panthers, while her sister, Margaret, added 10.

FALMOUTH 41, BIDDEFORD 19: Adelaide Cooke scored 13 points, Candice Powers added 10, and the Yachtsmen (2-1) beat the Tigers (0-3) at Falmouth.

Falmouth outscored Biddeford 32-9 over the middle two quarters to lead 34-13.

Grace Martin scored 14 points for Biddeford.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 60, SACOPEE VALLEY 28: Brianna Jordan scored eight of her 20 points in the first quarter as the Patriots (3-0) grabbed a 21-9 lead against the Hawks (1-2) at South Hiram.

Isabelle DeTroy added 15 points for Gray-New Gloucester.

Helen Ruhlin led Sacopee Valley with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

KENNEBUNK 32, NOBLE 29: Gabby Fogg scored 12 points, and the Rams (2-1) held off the Hawks (0-3) at Kennebunk.

Alaina Schatzabel added nine points for Kennebunk, which held Noble scoreless in the first quarter. The Rams led 6-0 after one quarter and 24-15 after three.

Reagan Kelly scored nine of her 10 points during Noble’s fourth-quarter comeback bid, while Amy Fleming finished with 13 points.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 39, LEAVITT 28: Nicole Bennett scored 11 points, Mackenzie Buzzell added 10 and the Raiders (2-1) pulled away in the second half to beat the Hornets (2-1) at Fryeburg.

Makayla Cooper added nine points for the Raiders, who pulled away from a 14-all halftime tie.

Elizabeth Goulette scored 14 points for the Hornets.

GREELY 65, BRUNSWICK 46: Anna DeWolfe scored 20 points, and the Rangers (3-0) used a 25-12 third quarter advantage to down the Dragons (2-1) in Cumberland.

Isabel Porter added 17 points for Greely.

Sabrina Armstrong scored 14 points and Charlotte MacMillan chipped in with 12 for Brunswick.

WESTBROOK 44, MT. ARARAT 30: Mikayla Van Zandt had 15 points and 16 rebounds, and the Blue Blazes (1-2) pulled away in the second half to beat the Eagles (0-3) in Topsham.

Nyagoa Bayak added nine points and seven rebounds for Westbrook, which used a 9-3 third-quarter advantage to take a 26-17 lead.

Nicole Bradstreet led Mt. Ararat with nine points.

MORSE 47, CAPE ELIZABETH 37: Sierra Wallace scored nine of the Shipbuilders’ 15 third-quarter points as Morse (1-2) took a 35-22 lead against the Capers (0-3) at Cape Elizabeth.

Wallace finished with a 19 points, while Noa Sreden tossed in 13.

Brooke Harvey had 12 points to lead Cape Elizabeth.

BOOTHBAY 67, HALL-DALE 24: Page Brown scored 21 points and Faith Blethen added 19, including four 3-pointers, as the Seahawks (3-0) downed the Bulldogs (0-3) at Boothbay Harbor.

Boothbay jumped out to a 23-2 lead after one quarter and led 38-7 at halftime.

Kayla Searles had seven points to lead Hall-Dale.
