NAPLES — Nathan Simmons hit a 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds remaining to give Lincoln Academy the edge in a 74-71 victory over Lake Region in a Class B South boys’ basketball game Thursday night.

Lake Region’s Tyler Walker had a potential tying shot rim out just before the buzzer. He finished with 37 points, including 13-of-16 shooting from the line.

Keyden Leeman led Lincoln Academy (2-1) with 25 points. Cody Tozier chipped in 21 points, while Simmons finished with 12.

True Meyers added 12 points for the Lakers (0-3).

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 47, TRAIP ACADEMY 43: The Panthers (1-1) came back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter and outlasted the Rangers (2-1) in overtime at Yarmouth.

Te’Andre King scored eight of his 16 points in the last quarter as North Yarmouth Academy used a 13-4 run to take a 42-40 lead, but Shane MacNeill hit a runner with two seconds left in regulation to tie it.

The Panthers had a 5-1 advantage in overtime, all from the free-throw line.

POLAND 62, MARANACOOK 61: Tyler Tucci hit the winning free throw with five seconds remaining in overtime, and the Knights (2-1) went 6 for 6 from the line in the extra period to outlast the Black Bears (0-3) at Poland.

Kyle Wilbur hit a tying 3-pointer with 37 seconds left in regulation for Maranacook.

Caleb Hodgkin had 16 points to lead the Knights. Kurtis Leighton added 15.

GREELY 55, BRUNSWICK 44: Shane DeWolfe scored 18 points to lead the Rangers (3-0) to a win at Brunswick (2-1).

Trailing by nine after the first quarter, the Dragons cut the deficit to two by halftime. Nate Benoit scored seven of his 17 points in the second quarter.

The Rangers pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Dragons 29-20.

Matt McDevitt added 12 points for the Rangers, hitting two 3-pointers.

SOUTH PORTLAND 56, GORHAM 42: Deandre White hit three of his four 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Red Riots (2-1) held a 17-10 scoring advantage to take a 28-20 halftime lead against the Rams (0-2) at South Portland.

White finished with 12 points. Noah Malone also put in 12 for South Portland, while Moses Oreste added 10.

WELLS 71, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 35: The Warriors (3-0) jumped out to a 15-4 first-quarter lead and rolled past the Seagulls (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

Deandre Woods scored 18 points for Wells. Tyler Bridge added 12 and Keegan Reidy chipped in with 10.

Ian Regan paced Old Orchard Beach with 13 points.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 54, MESSALONSKEE 42: Kyle Donlin scored 22 points and the Panthers (3-0) used a 17-6 third-quarter advantage to down the Eagles (1-2) at Waldoboro.

Cameron Allaire added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Medomak.

Nathan Violette scored 17 points and Cole Wood chipped in with 10 to lead Messalonskee.

WESTBROOK 59, MT. ARARAT 32: Zacari Manoogian led all scorers with 17 points as the Blue Blazes (2-1) cruised to a win over the Eagles (1-2) in Westbrook.

Bailey Sawyer added nine points for Westbrook, which led 26-14 at halftime.

SANFORD 77, SCARBOROUGH 56: The Spartans (2-1) took a 21-8 lead in the first quarter and cruised past the Red Storm (0-3) in Scarborough.

Ethan Belanger led the Spartans with 23 points, and Matt Romano scored 18. Brad Bouchard added 17.

Nicholas Fiorillo scored 15 points for Scarborough. Emmett Peoples added 12 points, hitting three 3-pointers.

PORTLAND 73, OXFORD HILLS 52: Terion Moss had 18 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals to pace the Bulldogs (3-0) as they handled the Vikings (1-2) at Portland.

Portland outscored the Oxford Hills 25-16 in the second quarter, led by eight points apiece from Moss and Pedro Fonseca, to take a 40-29 halftime lead.

Clay Hard-Lindsey added 18 points for the Bulldogs.

WINDHAM 63, LEWISTON 56: Mike Gilman had six of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles (1-2) pulled away from the Blue Devils I0-3) at Lewiston.

Nicholas Curtis recorded a triple-double for Windham with 12 points, 12 boards and 11 assists, while Cory Hutchinson added 14 points.

Kym Tores led Lewiston with 15 points.

BONNY EAGLE 64, MASSABESIC 59: Zach Maturo and Connor Sirois each scored 18 points to lead the Scots (2-1) over the Mustangs (0-3) in Standish.

Maturo nailed six 3-pointers, four of them in the second quarter. Jackson Hogan added 11 points for the Scots.

Isaac DesVergnes led the Mustangs with 17 points. Nicholas Amabile and Alex Schepis each added 16 points.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 62, SACOPEE VALLEY 35: John Martin and Josiah Rottari each scored 18 points and combined to make 10 3-pointers as the Patriots (1-2) cruised past the Hawks (0-3) in Gray.

Ryan LaChance added 14 for the Patriots. Alex Mudgett scored 16 points for the Hawks.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 66, FREEPORT 46: Mason Shink scored eight of his 13 points in the second quarter, and the Phoenix (3-0) opened a 37-20 halftime lead at Freeport (0-3).

Austin Darling and Noah Preble each had 15 points to lead Spruce Mountain.

Toby Holt led Freeport with 15 points.

HOCKEY

SOUTH PORTLAND/FREEPORT/WAYNFLETE 4, BRUNSWICK 1: Aidan Schifano scored two power-play goals in a span of 1:52, and South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete (1-1) used a four-goal second period to rally past the Dragons (0-1-1) at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

James Adam and Atticus Patrick also scored for South Portland. Jared Hummer scored in the first for Brunswick.

GREELY 12, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 2: Adam Rost had two goals and 10 other Rangers (1-1) scored as they easily defeated Maranacook/Winthrop (0-3) at Falmouth.
