I love turtles. I love the new turtle sculpture in the Portland Public Library. I have one concern: You aren’t allowed to touch it. It is beautiful, tactile and begs to be touched. When put in the middle of seating at ground level, it cries out “touch me.”
I think you are creating a new generation of scofflaws when you have a sculpture so enticing that may not be felt.
I don’t have any valuable advice on how to fix this. I just wanted you to know.
