Classes will resume on Thursday at the Saco Middle School after crews spent two days cleaning up damage from a broken water line.
Superintendent of Schools Dominic A. DePatsy made the announcement Wednesday on the school’s website. Students missed two days of classes.
DePatsy said cleaning crews spent Tuesday and Wednesday removing sheet rock from each room that flooded. The crew used blowers to dry the affected areas and keep mold from forming prior to reinstalling the drywall.
The flooding occurred on school vacation week after a water line connected to a fountain on the second floor broke. Several rooms and corridors were flooded.
