OGUNQUIT — A state agency’s investigation into the discovery of rat poison on a beach in Ogunquit is now complete.
Rat poison was found on a public beach in Ogunquit last summer. WMTW-TV reports the Maine Board of Pesticides Control’s investigation into the discovery is done.
Results of the investigation have not yet been made public.
Ogunquit’s Select Board voted earlier this week to accept a voluntary resignation from a public works director who was placed on administrative leave after the poison was discovered.
The town has said it cannot comment on personnel matters due to confidentiality laws. The director, Cliff Marchant, is scheduled to be paid until his resignation in March.
