Portland police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officers conducted a drug-related search Tuesday afternoon at 11 Grant St., and one person was arrested, the Portland Police Department said.

Lt. Robert Martin said a police tactical team was sent to Grant Street, along with an armored vehicle, to assist in the search. He said the extra personnel and weaponry were needed because drug-related activity typically involves firearms.

Martin said the MDEA arrested a woman. He did not know her identity or the charge filed against her.

Martin did not know how many people were targeted with arrest warrants, or what type of narcotics were alleged to be involved.

He said agents from the MDEA led the investigation.
