FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Wide receiver Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons was held out of practice Wednesday after aggravating his sprained toe in Saturday’s playoff victory against Seattle.

Jones is expected to play in the NFC championship game Sunday against Green Bay. He didn’t appear to favor the injury as he walked through the locker room before practice.

Jones participated in a walk-through session early Wednesday before missing the regular practice. Coach Dan Quinn said the plan is to “get him more work as the week goes on.”

Jones missed two games with the toe injury. He still finished second in the NFL with 1,409 yards receiving on 83 catches.

PACKERS: Coach Mike McCarthy said receiver Davante Adams may not practice until Saturday because of an ankle injury, the latest question for a receiving group that also may be without Jordy Nelson for the NFC championship game.

Adams got hurt in the 34-31 victory last week against the Dallas Cowboys. The third-year wideout had a breakout regular season with 75 catches for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns.

JAGUARS: Jacksonville retained Nate Hackett as offensive coordinator, providing some continuity for quarterback Blake Bortles.

Hackett, who was originally hired as the team’s quarterbacks coach before the 2015 season, replaced fired offensive coordinator Greg Olson in late October and helped the Jaguars make strides in a number of categories.

NEW YORK Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had the most engagement on Twitter among NFL players this season, while Colin Kaepernick was only a surprising 49th.

The list, compiled by MWWPR and sports influencer network Opendorse, looked not just at who tweeted the most but also at which players had the highest engagement rate, with a minimum of 100,000 followers and 100 tweets. Despite his kneeling down for the national anthem and the resulting uproar, Kaepernick was far down the lists of shares and comments for his posts on Twitter.

JETS: New York hired former Rams assistant Dennard Wilson as its defensive backs coach.

Wilson replaces Joe Danna on Todd Bowles’ staff, which has five other vacancies, including offensive coordinator after Chan Gailey retired after the season.

BILLS: New coach Sean McDermott hired Kelly Skipper to oversee LeSean McCoy and the NFL’s top-ranked running game.

Skipper takes over as Buffalo’s running backs coach after spending the previous two seasons holding the same job with Jacksonville. He also spent eight seasons as an assistant in Oakland following a nine-year stint at the college level split between UCLA and Washington State.
