Why am I surprised at Gov. Le-Page’s proposed budget and comments? I find myself fuming over his statement that “the Maine people want” what he is calling for.
Hello? Did we the people not vote for a surcharge on incomes over $200,000? Did that mean we want him to lower the tax rate to virtually eliminate that addition, which was to help with education expenses? Did we vote to have him dump more of education costs back on property owners who are already groaning under the weight of property taxes?
When does this complete baloney stop? When is enough enough?
