MONTREAL — Zach Bogosian scored his first goal of the season in overtime and the Buffalo Sabres beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 on Saturday night in the second game of a back-to-back for both teams.

Sabres captain Brian Gionta and Cody Franson also scored. Robin Lehner stopped 36 shots.

Artturi Lehkonen and Phillip Danault scored for Montreal, and Carey Price made 35 saves.

Bogosian scored with a slap shot 1:48 into overtime, just a few seconds after Lehner robbed Montreal’s Alex Galchenyuk from the slot with his glove.

JETS 5, BLUES 3: Bryan Little scored twice on the power play, Ondrej Pavelec set a franchise record for saves in a period and Winnipeg handed visiting St. Louis its third straight loss.

Pavelec, starting his second game this season after being called up from the minors Tuesday, broke his own Atlanta/Winnipeg franchise record for saves in a period with 25 in the second. He had a 24-save period on Oct. 31, 2009, against Ottawa.

Pavelec made 34 saves for the game.

ISLANDERS 4, KINGS 2: Anders Lee scored two power-play goals to lead New York to a win at home.

John Tavares had a goal and an assist, Jason Chimera also scored and Jean-Francois Berube stopped 34 shots to earn his first win in his third start of the season for the Islanders. New York, which won its third straight and fourth in the last five games, came in with back-to-back shutouts.

BLUE JACKETS 3, HURRCANES 2: Scott Hartnell scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period to give Columbus a win over visiting Carolina.

SENATORS 3, MAPLE LEAFS 2: Mike Hoffman scored the tying goal with 1:11 left in regulation, Tom Pyatt got the shootout winner and Ottawa won at Toronto.

Bobby Ryan also scored for Ottawa, which is second in the Atlantic Division with 54 points – two more than the Maple Leafs and Bruins.

DEVILS 4, FLYERS 1: Miles Wood scored twice, Keith Kinkaid stopped 35 shots and New Jersey won at Philadelphia.

Kyle Palmieri and Pavel Zacha also scored and Michael Cammalleri had two assists for the Devils, who have won four of their last five games.

Travis Konecny had a goal for Philadelphia, which has lost 12 of 15 since ending a 10-game winning streak in December.

TRADE: Los Angeles acquired defenseman Cam Schilling from Chicago for forward Michael Latta.

Schilling has seven goals and 10 assists in 40 games for the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate in Rockford. He has played six games for the Blackhawks over three seasons.
