WELLS — Chandler True’s layup with .5 seconds remaining lifted Lake Region to a 50-49 win over Wells in a Class B South girls’ basketball game Saturday.

True finished with 12 points, Kristen Huntress scored 13 and Melody Millett added 10 for Lake Region (7-6).

Natalie Thurber hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left to give Wells (7-5) a 49-48 lead.

Lake Region trailed 41-31 after three quarters but outscored Wells 19-8 in the fourth. Megan Schneider scored 15 points and Thurber contributed 13 for the Warriors.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 49, BOOTHBAY 36: Tia Day and Abbey Allen each scored 14 points to lead the Mustangs (12-2) over the Seahawks (13-1) in Monmouth.

Day connected on two 3-pointers and Allen pulled down 10 rebounds. Hannah Anderson added nine points for Monmouth.

Page Brown scored 20 points for Boothbay.

TRAIP ACADEMY 47, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 23: Cassidy Delano scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Rangers (4-9) over the Panthers (5-7) in Kittery.

Marina Casey added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Lindsay Tufts led NYA with nine points.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 40, KENTS HILL 16: Aubrey Viekman scored 10 of her 13 points in the first half as the Lions (3-8) opened an 18-8 lead over Kents Hill (1-7) in South Portland.

GPCS put the game away with a 14-0 advantage in the third quarter.

HALL-DALE 40, WISCASSET 28: Sabrina Freeman scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (1-14) in a win over the Wolverines (1-12) at Wiscasset.

Cat Kincaid contributed nine points and seven rebounds, and Kayla Searles had eight points and seven assists for Hall-Dale.

Hayhlee Craig led Wiscasset with 18 points.

LISBON 41, DIRIGO 33: Gianna Russo scored 14 points to lead the Greyhounds (7-7) over the Cougars (4-10) in Lisbon.

Jasmin Le added nine points for Lisbon, hitting two 3-pointers.

Alexa Varnum led Dirigo with 14 points.

TEMPLE ACADEMY 58, ISLESBORO 22: Kiara Carr scored 21 points to lead the Bereans (8-4) over the Eagles (5-5) in Waterville.

Emily Lau paced Islesboro with 14 points.

RICHMOND 63, BUCKFIELD 14: Sydney Tilton had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lift the Bobcats (12-0) to a win over the visiting Bucks (3-9).

Ashley Abbott added 11 points, and Brianne Lancaster grabbed nine rebounds.

HALL-DALE 63, WISCASSET 55: Alec Byron scored 18 points and Tyler Nadeau added 18 as the Bulldogs (11-3) beat the Wolverines (9-5) in Farmingdale.

Hall-Dale made 17 of 20 free throws, including 11 of 11 by Byron.

Ethan James led Wiscasset with 16 points despite sitting out most of the first half in foul trouble.

TRAIP ACADEMY 61, NYA 42: Joey Cavanagh scored 18 points and three teammates also reached double figures as the Rangers (5-8) beat the Panthers (7-5) in Kittery.

Haven Cutko and Te’Andre King each scored 10 points for NYA.

BOOTHBAY 46, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 44: Carter Babcock scored 13 points and Kyle Ames added 12 to help the Seahawks (7-6) hold off the Mustangs (3-11) in Monmouth.

Monmouth’s Hunter Richardson scored 16 points but missed a 25-footer as time expired after stealing an inbounds pass.

RICHMOND 63, BUCKFIELD 55: Zach Small scored 36 points to lead the Bobcats (12-0) over the Bucks (5-8) in Richmond.

Buckfield’s Ethan Jackson scored 18 points.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

YORK/TRAIP 2, BIDDEFORD/THORNTON 1: Emma Ford and Rachel Carr scored in the first period and the Wildcats (8-6) held off the Tigers (1-12-1) in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Wendy Donnell and Sophie Sanatamaria assisted on Carr’s goal.

Emily Thorndike put Biddeford on the board with an unassisted goal midway through the second period.

GREELY 7, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Bridget Roberts notched a hat trick as the Rangers (12-1) beat the Clippers (5-10) at Family Ice Center.

Emilee McGullicuddy and Ellie Schad each had a goal and two assists for the Rangers.

Caroline Grant scored a pair of goals for Yarmouth, and Madi Dickinson and Katie Clemmer also scored.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

ST. DOMINIC 3, SCARBOROUGH 2: Ben Gosselin’s power-play goal 7:43 into the third period broke a 1-1 tie and Noah Toussaint added an insurance goal as the Saints (6-4) edged the Red Storm (5-5-1) in Lewiston.

Eric Murray pulled Scarborough within a goal with 1:51 left, but the Red Storm couldn’t get the tying goal despite a late power play.

Justin Keaney scored for the Saints in the first period. Anthony Burnham tied it in the second.

YARMOUTH 3, GREELY 2: Cooper May scored the tying goal late in regulation and Dom Morrill got the winner in overtime as the Clippers (6-3-1) rallied from a two-goal deficit against the Rangers (3-5) at Family Ice Center.

Greely grabbed a 2-0 midway through the third period when Ben Kennedy and Matt Kramlich scored a minute apart. Owen Ramsey answered for Yarmouth just 24 seconds after Kramlich’s goal.

CHEVERUS 3, GORHAM 0: Jason Halverson stopped 13 shots for the Stags (5-3) as they shut out the Rams (4-7) in Gorham.

Noah Bird recorded 38 saves for Gorham.

CAPE ELIZABETH 8, CAMDEN HILLS 3: The Capers got goals from seven players, including two from Peyton Weatherbie, in a win over the Windjammers at Troubh Ice Arena.

MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 5, BRUNSWICK 4: Noah Austin recorded a hat trick for the Eagles (5-7) in a win over the Dragons (2-8-1) in Brunswick.

Michael Deveaux netted three goals for Brunswick, which nearly erased a 4-1 deficit in the third period.

BANGOR 5, GARDINER 1: Goals by Gary Farnham and Dan Beal a minute apart in the second period enabled the Rams (6-4) to pull away from the Tigers (6-3) in Hallowell.

Beal finished with two goals, and Josh Sherwood had a goal and an assist for Bangor.

Joe Clark scored the lone Gardiner goal.
